- Right hand elevator skeleton mated to its skin
Time
to put the right hand elevator together. The rivets were
mostly squeezed and went together with out much fuss at all.
The screws were torqued to between 20 and 25 inch/lbs and then
marked with green torque seal, which you can see in the 3rd
picture below. Made sure I used a bit of Duralac as well.
Time to roll the leading edge; now having
done the rudder already I was feeling confident; Bob was about to
help; but it turned into quite a fiddle and took ages to get the
correct bend using the broom handle and then smaller handles when
bending the tighter radiuses. In the end of after
about two hours we got it right and I could finish it with some
pop rivets.
